GOLD BOX COMPANION - TUTORIAL

This guide is for the GOG.com versions of the Gold Box games. Before using GBC you should first start the game, create a party of characters, begin adventuring and save the game.

Extract all files from the GBC.zip archive to a wanted location. Start GBC.exe.

Click the "Setup GOG" button.

GBC should detect the default GOG / GOG Galaxy install folder but if not, browse to the folder where your Gold Box games are installed.

From the game list, select the game you want to play. Click the "GOG settings" button.

Uncheck the "Full Screen" checkbox.

From "Advanced Settings" you probably want to adjust the "Scaling Engine" to "normal3x" and check "Keep Aspect Ratio". Save the settings.

Start the game.

Load wanted save slot.

Begin adventuring. Pool of Radiance automatically does this.

Click on the same save slot letter that you loaded in the game.

Note 1: You can refresh saved games by clicking on the game name in the game list.

Note 2: This tutorial assumes that you use GOG cloud saves. If not, uncheck "Use GOG cloud saves folder".

Click the "Search" button.

If all goes well, you should see something like this. You are ready to go.

THe HUD menu can be opened by moving the mouse cursor over the character icons.
